J. Lawson Designs sent me a beautiful necklace with my sons initials hand-stamped into small disc charms, accented by freshwater pearls (including a freshwater pearl on the clasp).  This is actually my very piece of “mom jewelry” and I love it!  I now wear it almost all the time, and proudly.  If you are looking for a beautiful piece of “mom jewelry” without breaking the bank, take a look at J. Lawson Design.  This would also be a great item for a bride-to-be to have theirs and their husband-to-be’s initials on a necklace.

I started making jewelry in 1991 after moving to Seattle from the Midwest.  I had a very busy jewelry business for 15 years, which was the best thing I ever did… until I had triplets!  I started looking for the perfect little charm necklace with their initials.  Nothing cutesy, nothing gaudy; something simple, elegant and modern.  I just couldn’t find anything I liked.  It then dawned on me that in my life before triplets, I was a jewelry designer!  I made one for myself and haven’t taken it off since!  So now I’m offering this lovely charm necklace to all the mommies out there.

Every charm hangs from a 16-inch sterling silver bead chain.  This is a great little chain: delicate but sturdy.  It is a choker length, but other lengths are available upon request. I hand stamp small sterling charms with the letter of your choice.  The charm is about the size of an m&m.  I can also stamp numbers, so if you’d like a special date, it’s not a problem.  On every charm hangs a freshwater pearl.  I usually use a grey pearl for boys and a pink pearl for girls.  I also offer white pearls as an option.

BUY IT: Visit J. Lawsons Design.  Take 25% off by using code LABORDAY though September 2, 2008.

WIN IT: J. Lawson’s Designs will generously gift one Shake The Salt reader with a 16” Sterling chain with 1, 2, or 3 charms, accented with the same number of freshwater pearls.

I like that the pearls make them a little jingly. I have a thing for jewelry that jingles.

Jill L August 29, 2008 at 8:05 pm

I love that they are simple enough to wear everyday and I could have each child’s initial without it being bulky.

Ginny August 29, 2008 at 9:26 pm

I love personalized things & this necklace is just so simple & pretty. It isn’t too much, and wouldn’t be considered that gawdy mom jewelry that people tend to avoid. I just love it, would love to own one!

I like the elegant simplicity.

Courtney August 30, 2008 at 12:17 am

I think it’s an awesome bragging tool. lol Put your children’s first initial on there. People will ask what the letters stand for and then you can brag a ton about how it’s for the most beautiful children in the world – yours. :)

The initial necklaces are simple, small, and very elegant – nothing gaudy about it. The extra addition of pearls to match add a touch of class. Thinking ahead for the holidays, these would make a wonderful gift!

Bonnie Day August 31, 2008 at 11:40 am

I love these necklaces but I have 4 children and would want 4 charms–why is there only 2, or 3 charms

cyndie August 31, 2008 at 12:24 pm

What gorgeous necklaces.

I love that these are so simple that I would feel comfortable wearing them on a daily basis. I don’t feel comfortable wearing “fancy” or “glittery” jewelry on a daily basis.

Hedy September 1, 2008 at 5:26 pm

I like how they’re subtle, not overly cutesy.

What I love most about J. Lawson’s Designs Necklaces is that they have some sort of sentimental value, some special meaning, to the person wearing the necklace. Not only are they beautiful and each one is unique to its owner, but they can serve as family heirlooms to be passed down from generation to generation. The necklaces represent Love, and that is priceless!

Dawn D. September 1, 2008 at 7:52 pm

I like that they’re casual and not fussy, yet they have simple elegance about them. Especially being customizable. It’s something I would wear every day.

I just love the simple personalization. The pearls give it that girly girl aspect. I also love the aspect of knowing that my children would be with me all day long as I wear the necklace. I am a sentimental person and I would just love to win this necklace.

I know that this is a very simple reason, but since my daughter was born in June, her birthstone is the pearl, so this necklace would be even more personal to me. Thanks!
