OK, for some reason completely unknown to me (and if you have any idea who or what is behind this mean trick, I want names and such cause I’m tracking them doooown!), my body has rebelled (wait, does this mean it is just me and not somebody else’s fault afterall? This kinda complicates things) against nature, common sense and obvious sleep deprivation and doesn’t allow me to feel sleepy until such a time as… well… let’s just say I’m pretty sure all of y’all are sleeping at that point.

It then leads to completely unproductive mornings because just the art of being awake, even barely, takes up every ounce of energy I have (which the toddler in my house completely misses because he of course is well rested and ready to play…. CARS.  Vroom.  Vroom.  His emphasis, by the way.).  I’ve been thinking about the possibility of a miracle happening where I’ll actually become a morning person be able to be more productive in the mornings.  Thinking about possibilities of miracles is a nice pastime, but oddly enough doesn’t always lead to a solution.

If you’ve had nothing better to do with your time and have been following this blog, you may remember me mentioning this philosophy of accomplishing things by slow and gradual change.  Upon first mentioning that, I established that I was going to try out that philosophy in the area of actually getting up and moving for no other reason than to get up and move, then do it for longer stretches of time each week, until which time (after a month?) I hope to be at the point where I can legitimately call it working out.

Although I am being careful not to completely overwhelm myself by taking on too many “new” things at once and therefore defeating the purpose, I am going to utilize this in different areas as I go along and am infact adding another area tonight…  establishing a bedtime routine that includes… a bedtime!  I’m starting this first week out by not changing the time I tend to go to bed, but to instead add a structured bedtime routine (starting an hour prior to the time I plan to go to bed).  After the first week, I will change the time to a slightly earlier time, and do so again each week until which time my body has become accustomed to going to bed at a decent hour.

I’m really not sure how I got to be staying up so late, since I don’t get to sleep in, naps during the day are iffy and I am not sure why I cannot fall asleep just because I feel tired or because the clock says I should have been in bed long ago.  I just cannot.  Tonight anyway.  I hope to have a different story as I progress.

Disclaimer: The above was written during an actual tired moment (before such was replaced by the I can’t sleep moment), so any acts of deliriousness thereof I am not responsible for.  I’m just sayin’.
