Yesterday was a long, excruciatingly sleepy day for me. I went to sleep the night before even later than has been my habit (which is already later than I’d prefer but I do enjoy that quiet and am wrestling with not being tired early enough).

Mid-afternoon I decided we really needed some fresh air and outdoor playtime. Amazingly, for the first time in almost forever, B wanted to swing!  We played outside for a while, which allowed ample time for him to attract a decent amount of mud to his clothing and body. Nice.   When we walked back in, he went straight to the tub, clothes and all!  He was turning cranky, but I braved the mailbox walk anyway (kind of hoping it’d make him happy).  He typically loves to ride down our little road in the stroller, but his poor little body must have been completely falling apart, because he kept telling me of all the body parts that “hurt” (and therefore needed to be kissed to become all better again).  I kept hoping no one was around to overhear him listing all his ailments!

After settling back at the house and eating dinner, I was attempting to get some things done at the computer, with him under my feet.  I felt something that felt… funny.. different… and heard him talking about a mess. I’ve learned to dread any mention of “mess” and rightfully so in this case! He somehow obtained a FULL bottle of sunblock, got it opened and DUMPED it on my footstool and the floor. Woe is me!

Sleep couldn’t come quick enough!!
