Tropical Storm Fay

Hey guys…  I’m setting up this post as a place for updates on my status related to Tropical Storm Fay.  In the event we are without power or I have other related news, either I will post it here or will try to get in touch with someone who will be able to post an update or other information in the comments.

Please keep Florida and South Georgia in your prayers.

You are welcome to comment on weather or such updates related to Tropical Storm Fay, link to any info or pictures, let us know how YOU are faring, etc.

The current updates I have heard state that we will probably get the most impact from this storm Thursday (tomorrow) evening with potential for serious flooding and power outages.

 UPDATE 8/20 10 PM EST

I took a walk down our road a little earlier to get the mail and to survey our “starting point” so to speak in the yard, street, etc .  There were a couple of puddles around and the ditch on one side of the road was holding quite a bit of water (not good) but the other side was not (go figure).  Our yard feels soft and damp.  I’m hoping for bright sun and no rain for part of tomorrow.  A little bit ago, the rain started.  I’m not sure if it will be continuous now or if it will be sporadic until the storm moves closer.  You never know with outer bands.

I’m going to go watch some storm coverage, catch up on anything new, make a snack and hopefully get some rest tonight (unlike the past 2 nights – yikes!).

I am able to update Twitter by text (helpful if we lose power), so you can follow me on Twitter to get any updates I send that way.

UPDATE 8/21 10 AM EST

We are currently in a waiting pattern as Tropical Storm Fay has basically stalled.  The time frame for the projected path has basically been set back 12 hours.  We did get some rain yesterday evening, but not all that much.  No rain so far this morning.  The trees are dancing a good bit, LOL.  Since there is not a lot of local activity expected today, Hubs was able to come home from work this morning, as opposed to remaining at work to see it through (and he brought breakfast with him!).  He could be called back at any given moment, depending on Fay.  So, it seems not much going on throughout most of today, but that could change instantly with these types of storms.

I was going to insert updated pics of the storm and projected path, then realized they have been automatically updated.  Thank you for the great pics, Weather Channel, and thanks for automatically updating them!

Thank you for your continued prayers for us and our area.

UPDATE 8/21 @ 9:30 PM EST

WE LOST POWER!!!

Shortly after we put B to bed, we completely lost power.  No telling how long it will be out.  Nice.  B. start fussing like crazy since everything went pitch black.  :(   I made my way to his room and got him and we set up a push light in the living room for a little bit of light and he played.  Now he is miserable, very agitated because he is very overtired.  {sigh}

Will update here and/or Twitter as I can.

I live south of West Palm Beach on the East coast of Florida, so we experienced the worst of Fay on Monday night and Tuesday morning. We had a lot of rain, but fortunately it was not heavily flooded in my area. However, they weren’t so lucky just north of here. Good luck to you and your family, Christy, as you ride out the storm!

I will pray for safety for everyone in this storms path. I am in Minnesota, so this doesn’t affect me at this time.

Hey Christy,
Where exactly are you located? I am in Ocala and we are getting Lots of rain since about noon today.I hope it moves out of here by tomorrow because I would hate to have any flooding problems.
