Ok, just because I know all of you have been worried sick about this and unable to sleep until you had an update, I decide to post a follow-up to the glass issue. Also know as the I’m-about-to-kill-a-cat issue.
As it turned out, no one was stabbed or sliced while taking out the trash (which meant we missed our 15 seconds of fame on the news as that is the type of thing the news reports instead of.. well, you know, news). So, everyone is safe and without national footage.
I am still in need of replacing items, but now have options… Jill linked me up to Northern Cheapskate who, realizing this fate would eventually befall me, posted some golden info and just waited for me to need it. OK, maybe she had other reasons, too (like she thought it was good info or wanted to share with other readers) but I doubt it. Such golden info included links to Replacements, LTD, EBay, FreeCycle and Craigslist for finding replacement pieces. All kidding aside, it’s a great write up with good info, so check that out next time your darn cat (or child with the innocent face) destroys any of your dishes. Thanks, Christina for the info & Jill for pointing me to it!! Oh, and of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the option of shopping for new place settings.
Now, about the last item. Anyone want a cat?
Thank you for visiting the original Shake The Salt!!

Good post! I hope you find your dishes (and a home for your cat).

Hee, hee! Sorry but i already have one too many!
OK, as aggravating as he is, I’m probably keeping him. Unless of course I get a really good offer. (Like someone saying they are on their way….).
Glad to be a help!
Ross has GREAT CHEAP dishes-I have to stay out of that aisle or I am in trouble!
