2009 is a mere 5 days away, can you believe it? At this time last year, I honestly did not know what a blog was, much less think I’d actually create one, move/change it, create another (shared) one, and have plans for more. Ironically, and thankfully (lol) the new blogs have / will have more direction than MM / STS has had. I love it yet it isn’t quite “there” on what I want it to be. Of course if I knew exactly what that was, it would be a lot easier to get there. So, I want to thank you for coming along this journey with me as I continue to figure it out. J The new blogs will help me organize content better and will have a specific purpose, which may help STS “become”.
The response to the Holiday Gift Guide was unbelievably overwhelming and I am so thankful for all participants. Unfortunately, it was so overwhelming that the time I allotted to have it created and published was not enough time and not everything was featured. For that, I offer my apologies and although the Christmas season has now passed us, I will include all products that didn’t make the Holiday Gift Guide in upcoming articles / lists.
New winners will be posted shortly as there were numerous winners that did not claim their prizes. If you have entered any of the Holiday Gift Guide giveaways or any since, keep an eye out for the new list! A hint – you may want to use an original name / id when entering contests & giveaways (even adding something to end of a common name could help) then occasionally do Google searches to see if that name gets any hits (as in winner announcements!). I hate that someone misses out on a prize they won, but I am no longer able to personally contact every winner.
Upcoming Toddler Travel features will be pushed back to January, but keep an eye out for those. Lots of great products you may be interested in if you will be traveling with a toddler.
Have you heard about the Shi Shu Baby blankets and blankets for the home? They will be included in the Golden Globe swag bags and yours truly has one right here. Look to Simply Sensational Divas Review the week of January 4th for several “mom opinions” (mine included) on this fab product.
A pretty big thing I am working on right now, and thankfully am ALMOST finished compiling, is my list of 101 things I want to do in the next 1001 days. Check out Day Zero for the 411. It starts for me on January 1, 2009. If you are looking for some help in getting your list started, check out Jessica Know’s 15 Days Of New Year Resolutions. I plan on making lots of changes this upcoming year and over the course of the 1001 days (2.75 years) and am excited about getting it started.
A Moment For Me will resume on Monday, January 29, 2008 after a little Holiday siesta.
BTW, my email is still tragically overloaded, but I am working through it. I am checking for any winners before drawing new ones and then working through other email as I can. The busyness of holidays, family, house & home have me spending less time at the computer right now, as I am sure most of you can relate.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Can you believe it is almost Christmas? Tomorrow hubs works his 24 hour shift, so providing the toddler lets me, I plan to work at the computer as much as possible, so I have a full list of non-computer to dos to accomplish also (including lots more wrapping!). So much to do and the time is G-O-N-E. Wow. Monday, hubs will hopefully be able to finish the shed completely (always something keeping it form getting completely done!). We are going to start purchasing plastic storage bins because I have so much that I’d love to put in the shed, but don’t have proper & safe ways to store it and keep it protected. We also plan to do some last minute shopping, etc on Monday – in the city, which I seem to avoid anymore lately. Tuesday he works another 24 hour shift, then Wednesday (Christmas Eve) we are going to celebrate Christmas as a family, just the three of us, and do the whole Christmas morning (yes, on Christmas Eve morning, lol) shebang. Later that day it is visiting with family and friends, then Thursday (Christmas Day) and Friday,. Hubs is working (2) back to back 24 hour shifts. Since Christmas seems to be a whole month long thing for our son, we’ve talked about setting up the fish tank after Christmas, but in December, to add a nice finishing touch to a wonderful, surprise filled month for Lil Roo.
The Gallery Collection has an absolutely stunning collection of Business Christmas Cards and it isn’t too late to order! As long as you place your order by 1:00 PM EST December 22nd, you can receive them on December 23rd. There is also a 40% discount sale currently going on.
If you have your own business, then you should ensure that your business Christmas cards stand out and represent who you are. Make an impression with those cards! Let the cards speak for you and let others see what a professional, first class business you operate. Don’t forget business Christmas cards are an ideal way to tell your customers “thank you” for their business and patronage – and it will also place your company name in front of them, remind them about you, and may even lead to future sales.
A few of my favorites from The Gallery Collection are the Snowflake Sparkle Card, the Golden Sleigh Bells Holiday Cards, Glittering Pines Seasons Greetings Card (reminds me of our very recent visit to Utah – ah, snow!! So beautiful when it is freshly fallen!), and the adorable Peace On Earth Holiday Greeting Card with the polar bears (this one reminded me of a trip way back I took to Alaska and polar bear prints & cards I bought there). Take a look around the site and I’m sure you will find some favorites too.
The Gallery Collection is offering free downloads of Charles Dicken’s “Christmas Carol” on DailyLit.com, so be sure to hop over there and get your copy.

Christmas is less than a week away and a brand new year is less than two weeks away! Where did the year go? Are you ready? Is all your shopping done, presents wrapped & under the tree, menu planned, etc? What are your plans for the holidays this year?
We (my dad, my son, and myself) celebrated Christmas in Utah with my sister and her family and had a great time. We will be doing Christmas at our house (my son, husband and I) on Christmas Eve – Lil Roo is only two, so thankfully he won’t notice the whole switch-up of days. Since hubs is working Christmas Day, we are going to do the whole Christmas morning thing on the morning of Christmas Eve, spend a relaxing morning & part of the afternoon at home, watching our son enjoy all his new goodies, then will visit family and friends. My son and I will spend Christmas Day at my dad’s, where there will be no shortage of little ones for Lil Roo to play with. J There will be other family coming in after Christmas, though I’m sure about those plans yet. Hubs will most likely be working New Year’s Eve, so no big party plans, LOL! I’m still working on my 101 in 1001 list that I want to start January 1st plus I want to get over to Jessica Knows to check out her 15 Days Of New Years’ Resolutions program.
Apparently, someone, somewhere must be having a good laugh at my expense because as I sit with a zillion things that really must be done, instead of actually doing any of them, I’ve spent the entire morning – it is afternoon now – lying down… extremely tired, very weak, and quite dizzy. I wasn’t 100% yesterday, but I did manage to get some things done around the house here and there plus a couple of quick posts. I’m not sure if this is due to leftover jetlag or if I may be coming down with something. I hope the feeling passes quickly, because my to do list isn’t really getting any shorter and this time of year is so extremely busy on top of that. If you are waiting on a reply, package, new winner announcements or a specific post from me, please bear with me… I’m truly working on it as I’m able… just not feeling so “able” at the moment.

We had a WONDERFUL time in Utah, but it is also great to be home – minus my ginormous to-do list, LOL! I will be posting lots of pics here and there and sharing some details. Lil Roo played in the snow for the very first time and just loved it! It was so beautiful – it felt like I was walking in a postcard anytime I was outside!
We arrived late Tuesday night. Now that I’m all settled back in, I realize just how much needs to be done.
I’m hoping to catch up on laundry today and tomorrow & have everything folded / hanging up and put away. I need to do a thorough clean in the kitchen.
I have oodles of mail, packages, and email to sort through and handle. I need to choose winners from the giveaways that ended this week, send out prizes that I personally have to mail, and contact giveaway sponsors that are mailing prizes. PLEASE CHECK THE WINNERS LIST & EMAIL ME YOUR INFO IF YOU HAVE WON AND HAVEN’T CONTACTED ME YET. I’ll be going through those as soon as I can so your prize can get on the way. If you have already contacted me, I’ll be on that as quick as I can. J
My inbox is full of some great last minute deals & sales that I want to get posted for anyone still Christmas shopping.
There was a complication or two with the shed install while I was gone, and with hubs working the next two days, it’ll be Saturday before it is ready for stuff to get moved into it. So, we know what Saturday’s project will be! Once I am able to get stuff moved into the shed, I can concentrate on other clutter that needs to go. I’ll be doing some things this month, but some will be a part of my 101 in 1001 that I plan to start in January.
Last night I was able to wrap most of Lil Roo’s gifts, and today I plan to wrap other gifts. Speaking of Lil Roo, I’m thinking it is just going to be Christmas all month long for him! We had a great vaca and did a Christmas Day there: opening gifts & Christmas Dinner; he came home to a new “big boy” bed (yep! Finally moved out of the crib, lol!) – and a Thomas bed at that; and there will be lots of fun and gifts on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
I have a whole list of things that I need to work on, including the above but so much more, that I’d like to have completed by the end of the weekend, so just call me a little worker bee.
I’ll be busy, busy, busy!! It is a fun busy though and there is so much excitement at this time of year!
