in Giveaways

Hi there!  Busy day today, so this is a little late getting posted. I’ll make it up to ya though with a little giveaway.  Read on for details. J

How was your week?  Did you remember to take some time to do something special for yourself (read a book, get your nails done, relax)?

This past week, I took a small step to fight the frump, courtesy of a little dab of lip gloss. I got a sweet little package a few days ago and inside were a couple of tubes of Skinn by Dimitri James Wet Lips Super Shine lip gloss. I have to admit, when I’m just hanging around the house (and as a stay-at-home / work-at-home mom I do that quite a lot, LOL!) I tend to dress comfy & casual and don’t do the makeup. Anyone else?

Well, when the package arrived, I decided to test it out and I have to admit that just a tiny tint of color from the lip gloss created a nice little boost in the way I was feeling. It didn’t cause me to go full gusto on the makeup, but it was nice, because I did it just for me.

By joining in the meme this week (blog about your “Moment For Me” and link to it with the Mr. Linky below or simply leave a comment telling us about it), you will be enter to win one of six Skinn by Dimitri James Wet Lips Super Shine lip gloss.

For an extra entry, Stumble this post & leave a comment letting me know.

Winners will be announced in next week’s “A Moment For Me” post.

My moment for me this week is to actually find time to go to the gym I signed up for. I also need to find the time to hit the tanning bed. Summer is right around the corner you know. Of course once we get passed these freezing temps here!

Tina January 22, 2009 at 12:17 am

I have been taking me time by trying to do my work 15 minutes at a time. I also took the time to take a nice hot bubble bath, poured myself cranberry gingerale in a champagne glass, turned on some light music and lit a candle and SOAKED.

I also took time tonight to show my daughter some pamper missions for themselves. I introduced my DD9 to deodorant, showed her how to blow dry her hair, and let her use some of my body lotion on her really dried out skin.

By showing her how to take care of herself, I hope to take one less thing off of me. She was appreciative of my gesture, going to bed with a smile on her face and kisses for mommy and daddy.

My next pamper mission are my nails. I always feel so much better about myself when I have a nice manicure and my nails french tipped!

My husband is deployed right now so its just me and my two year old. Finding time for myself is really hard right now, so I ordered a series of books and started reading them every night. Its keeping me from feeling lonely.

thinkingbrain135 January 22, 2009 at 10:25 am

My husband and sons were gone for the weekend, participating in a wrestling tournament, so I spent Saturday night having a girl’s night in. I was able to have an uninterupted bubble bath, shave my legs, deep-condition my hair, and give myself a facial. I was also able to accurately paint my fingernails and toenails. “Me” time was much appreciated!

As a busy woman, I often forget to take time for myself so this week it involved a nice hot bubble bath with new bubble bath and new shampoo- grapefruit and pomegranate.

A new magazine today rounded out the week.

I have 3 young children and one is only 6 months old. I decided that I needed some alone “me” time to devote to reinventing myself and evolving more as a woman, mother and wife. I was trying to figure out what would be a fun way for me to do that and also enrich my life and the life of my family at the same time. So, I started taking cooking classes at our local culinary school. So far I have had the pleasure of spending some me time learning to roll sushi, which is something I have always wanted to learn to do since we love sushi in our home and another night we had a Thai cooking lesson. This month has been focused on Asian cooking, next month is Greek! This was the best first step in my having some time to myself to learn something new, get out of the house to interact with some new and interesting people, and be able to bring what I learned home to my family so I can be creative in the kitchen and delight them with some new and exciting meals! This is an all around win, win way to spend a few hours out a week and enrich my life! Thank you for letting me share my new venture in life!

Deborah Wellenstein January 23, 2009 at 10:29 am

Itry to spend my “me” time reading. Thanks!

Vanessa C. January 23, 2009 at 12:16 pm

I have a one year old and am in college again (yikes!) and also have a household to attempt to run…so I rarely get a moment to myself. A couple nights ago I decide to do nothing after the little one wnet to bed…I watched a movie, grab some Mint Oreos and just chilled for two hours. It was lovely!!!

Shari D January 23, 2009 at 12:18 pm

For a “just for me” moment I like to grab a book,a hot cup of tea,and jump in the tub for as long as I can.

lauren January 23, 2009 at 4:52 pm
