This morning I awake to the sounds of Lil Roo playing with his GeoTrax set. {OK, full disclosure: I awoke to the sounds of him being frustrated with his GeoTrax set. Obviously something wasn’t acting the way he thought it should. Irish temper and all.} This wouldn’t have been that unusual, except… well, it was 5:30 AM, instead of a much friendlier, more normal 7:30 / 8:00 AM.
I’m not a morning person. In fact, I may very well be an anti-early morning person, so 5:30 may as well still be the middle of the night. It was still dark, y’all.
I’m not afraid to admit that I threatened my son with the unbelievable terror of being sent back to bed if he didn’t play in his room quietly and allow me to at least lie peacefully in my bed until a more reasonable hour. And because my word is law, it worked. For at least 5 to 10 minutes at a time, anyway.
{In other news, my sister and her younger son moved back from that snowy, across the country place she moved to a year and a half ago. Woot!}

My kids used to wake up at scary early hours as well. If it is dark out, it is most definitely not morning.

Yep around here if it’s still dark you better get back to bed.

I am not a morning person, myself. I have put my child in his playpen a time or 2 just to get a few extra minutes of shut eye.
Boy, if only my cats would listen to your reasoning!
