To view life through the eyes of a little boy can be a spectacular thing. Just imagine the wonder of rocks and pinecones and the excitement to be had by collecting them! This aforementioned collecting was how Lil Roo and I spent part of the afternoon yesterday, after he rode with Daddy on the lawnmower awhile, helping him mow the yard.
We discovered a few rocks near the place where Daddy {un}gracefully put a snake to sleep just moments before {trying not to focus on that… I live in the country, so I’m not “surprised”, but my distaste and being subject to freaking out is a whole ‘nother post entirely}. Discovering these few rocks led to the thrill of the hunt… finding more rocks! {Hubs explained to me at one point that a couple of the rocks were actually “hardpan” which was completely beside the point. If Lil Roo says it is a rock, it is a rock, regardless of its scientific elements, but I digress again.}

As we were on the search for more rocks, we discovered pinecones and collected a few of those as well. The pinecones were pretty cool, but not nearly as much so as the rocks. Personally, I’m more about flowers and pretty things, but I’m learning to live in a boy’s world and try to see it as he sees it. So, rocks are now cool and pinecones aren’t too shabby either.

After a fun & dirt induced afternoon, came cleanup time, which proved to be just as fun as the afternoon in the yard!

{He looked away as soon as I clicked each time, but I think this is my favorite of the few I attempted.}

Sounds like a great afternoon. And soon we can have just as much fun. Just as soon as the 3 feet of snow melt away! Spring! Wherefore art thou, Spring!!!???
