Lil Roo woke up crying about 4 AM this morning.  He wet through his diaper (the fact that he is still in a diaper is a whole other series of posts in itself – in short, I’m over the whole buying / changing / wearing diapers thing. Him? Not so much.).  He was wet, the bed was wet, and… he’s sick.  Even better? It appears our entire house is sick.  And by better, of course, I mean worse. {Sigh}

Saturday was a whole different story – we spent the afternoon at a local Earth Day Fair, and then had a nice early dinner as a family.  It occurred to me shortly after dinner that we are one of the lucky ones. We can take our two-almost-three year old son out with us to a nice restaurant. And live to tell about it.  It was actually very nice. He was awesome. Now, Mommy very much likes the idea of “nice dinners” sans toddler and is perfectly happy to have kid friendly meals with toddler, but just the knowledge that it went off perfectly felt really nice. Oh! Lil Roo also had gum for the very time. Daddy was getting a gumball from a really cool gumball machine and after all the fun, he insisted on a taste to see what all the hype was about. ;)

I heard there was a local boat show, so I looked it up after we got back to the car after our dinner, only to discover there was a $10 per person fee.  I guess I just didn’t feel like spending $20 to have someone try to sell us a boat (which is probably a good thing, because we might have been pushovers with the way we’ve been thinking about boats lately.)

Aside from the possibility of purchasing a boat, we would have been off a lot cheaper had we just paid the $20 for the boat show, LOL. We ended up at a store where we walked right by a Step 2 Sand & Water Activity Table. We picked it up. We also picked up a couple of DVD players for the vehicles.  They weren’t actually impulse buys, as we have been talking about both for a little bit, but definitely came out a tad more than boat show tickets would have been, LOL!

We took Lil Roo to Papa’s & Grandma’s to spend the evening while we went out to a get-together with friends to watch the fight.  I’m not so much “all into it”, but it wasn’t so bad and the company was great. Oh, and there was that part about going out. You know, without the kid.  It was a really great evening, topping off a really great family day.

That is, until 4 AM came rolling around. Sunday is gonna be a whole different picture from Saturday.

On a positive note, we are only a tad over a week away from our Disney Vacation!
