I really was inspired by the different reviews I read of Yanni concerts, but I should have taken a second look. His style, while very uncomplicated was quite grandios. I almost akin it to muzak for those who are intimidated by the nuances of classical music. I encourage those who liked this concert to explore the piano stylings of the great concert pianists, such as Martha Argerich. The music at Yanni reminded me of mediocre restaurant background music. I know that if you felt moved by this, you can probably find a whole world of music, that given a little insight, will open new windows of challenge,thought and varied moods and images.: bach, beethoven, ravel, stravinsky. Rachmoninov’s piano Concertos 2 and 3.

I am happy to read that the concert was great. I just bought my parents tickets as a Mother’s Day/Father’s Day gift… I do hope they enjoy it as much as you.

I see that the concert was 2 hours + encores.. great to know since it gives me an idea as to what time I can pick up my parents after the show.
