How cute are these handmade coupon organizers from Austin Artisian?  Austin Artisian offers two choices of the felt organizers: British Wool felt, the finest wool felt imported from the UK or Recycled ECO-felt, made with 100% recycled plastic bottles.

These would make great gifts for all the ladies you know with birthdays this summer.  It would also be a great way to help someone get started couponing by including a small coupon stash inside!

What prompted you to start your shop? What’s the background, the inspiration?

I love crafting and have always been involved with one art form or another. My mother actually prompted me to open a shop. She is my #1 fan and had been encouraging me to sell on Etsy for awhile.  I fell in love with wool felt awhile back and started out making small bags for family and friends. Then one day I took a good look at my coupon organizer and it was ugly to say the least. I made myself a new one and covered it in my wool felt. I thought, I might have something here. I get my inspiration from everywhere. I can walk into a bakery and think of something I would like to make. I walk outside and get inspired by new flowers blooming. Inspiration is all around us, you just have to stop and take notice.

What was your very first project?

My very first project was a simple little purse I made with my mother’s sewing machine back in middle school. *giggle* I have tried a lot of different art projects, from stained glass to jewelry design, soap making and pottery. I need to have an outlet and art works for me.

Is there something unique about your products vs. your competitors that you’d like readers to know?

My organizers are the perfect fit for your purse so you will always have it with you. That is the biggest challenge with clipping coupons, you can’t use them if you don’t have them. My organizers are a perfect fit for your purse, tote bag, or stashed in the glove compartment. They are super cute, fun to show off and very durable! As one of my customers said, “Perfectly compact, adorable, well-made, and totally necessary.” Everything is hand embroidered & hand cut by me in my studio. I try to make lots of styles so whether you like flowers, birds or tattoos, I will have something just for you!  I embroider and hand stitch all my appliqués directly on the covering so they hold up very well. I don’t take short cuts and I don’t sell anything mama wouldn’t be proud of.

What is the hardest thing about what you do?

There are times when I second guess myself on color combinations or the way something is placed on the organizer. I just try to go with the feeling of the piece and it usually comes out great.

Would you like readers to know anything about you personally?

I am a happy mommy of two small children living in Austin, Texas. Hook ‘em horns! I love treasure hunting at thrift stores, getting the Sunday paper for coupons, COFFEE, gourmet cooking, traveling, gardening and sewing. I have always had a passion for creating art. I love to cook, travel and take care of my wonderful family. I also spend some time blogging and would love to have a few more followers. Read more about the woman behind the craft at:

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I mean, I do know it was my option to learn, but I truly thought youd have something interesting to say.
