The Toddler’s Computer

I am in the midst of setting up my son’s computer in the living room.  It is an older one, nothing spiffy, but I think it’ll work just fine for him.  He’ll be 3 in a few weeks and we are giving him the complete Comfy Easy PC system (shhhh) with both sets of software / games (ages 1-3 and ages 3-5) for his birthday.

We received a card from Disney with a download link for a free Disney computer theme as a thank you for our recent visit, so as soon as I have the computer all set up (and figure out where I put that thing, lol!) I’ll download & install the theme for him.  He’s off with Daddy visiting “Maw” so it’ll be a nice surprise when he gets back.

Of course, that is all dependent upon the computer acting right, LOL!  I probably should have it all checked out and all the non-essential files removed before I start adding more.  That would just give me a reason to procrastinate though, and I don’t need any help in that area!! :)

The kinda sad part is that I haven’t found a table that I want for it yet, so it is sitting on the floor. I know, I know. The monitor is on a stand, so that helps some… but again about the procrastination thing.  What I’d really like is one of those large, chunky plastic, square kids tables – I want something super sturdy and large enough to fit the monitor and keyboard (and not have him too up close and personal with the screen).  Being an older monitor it is about a hundred feet deep, rofl! OK, at least it seems like it is, but you know the style I’m talking about. It certainly isn’t a flat screen.

I have some of the stuff plugged in and once I turned it on, it started running the scandisk, so I left it.  I need to figure out how to run the cord for our internet over to it…  that might prove to be a little tricky, so I guess I better get to work on it!

Thank you for visiting the original Shake The Salt!!

I’m sure your son won’t mind! That is pretty neat that he will have his own computer!
