Whenever I hear anything about Bingo mentioned, that silly childhood song comes to mind. I can remember quite a few years back, in my elementary school’s cafeteria / auditorium, learning different kid songs – and that was one of them.
You know you are singing it in your head right now.
Are you just thinking of the claps or actually clapping for the letters? Heehee.
It has been awhile, but my mother-in-law used to go to Bingo at the Knights of Colombus Hall every week. So, let’s just say I had that song in my head quite a bit!
She has always been a huge Bingo fan and I think she actually went more for the fun of it and fellowship with friends than chasing the big money – though she certainly didn’t mind when she won!
For many, that is all there is to it. Something to go do on Tuesday night – or whatever the night may be. But for others, what may start as something just for fun could slowly snowball into something more serious.
Whether playing online or off, it is important to be aware of how much you are spending.
Paying to play is one thing. I always set aside a certain amount (maybe $20 or so) to spend at the casino when I go on a cruise vacation, just for the fun of playing. When I’ve spent that amount, I’m done. I realize that the odds are not in my favor. I’m not always going to win and I’m most likely not going to win “this time”. I’m good with that.
Playing to win or just paying to play the game “one more time” is where the trouble starts.
Remember, everything in moderation!
Clap, clap, clap- clap-clap… and Bingo was his name-o!
